System
Under Stress
A space to examine how systems behave when reality hits.
Every system looks reasonable on a diagram. The stress test is what happens when a real human being — tired, rushed, confused, or simply thinking differently than the designer — meets it in practice.
This is not a blog about failure. It is about the gap between design intent and lived experience — and what that gap reveals about the assumptions we hide inside processes, products, organizations, and technology.
The patterns repeat. A queue that optimizes for the system, not the user. A change that is technically correct but humanly exhausting. A signal so confident it becomes dangerous. An AI that answers the question asked, not the question meant.
Stress does not break systems at random. It breaks them at exactly the point where the model and the reality diverge. That is where the interesting questions live.
If something here resonates — or if you disagree with something — I would genuinely like to hear it.
